Charlotte & Nick had a beautiful Mitton Hall wedding and you’d never know it but it was quite cold! They braved the cod for some lovely photos in Mitton halls gorgeous grounds.
How did you decide your wedding venue?
I saw our wedding venue on Instagram when searching for places to get married in the Ribble Valley. We love the countryside and going on walks with our two dogs Penny and Heidi. It seemed like such a gorgeous venue, the old part of the building was built in Tudour times and there was a huge fireplace in the main reception area. This appealed to both of us as we love history and all of the period details of the rooms. It really seemed like a comfortable, inviting place to be. When we visited we were sold! The modern part of Mitton Hall is also gorgeous and so sympathetic to the style and feel of the property. We had been made so welcome by the wedding coordinators and staff that really we couldn’t say no. Every time we have visited we both commented how laid back everyone was and the food speaks for itself, and we couldn’t wait for the next wedding meeting to come to see the venue again.
What song played for your first dance?
Our first dance song was ‘You & Me Song’ by the Wannadies. It was a tough decision, Nick especially loves his music and it took us such a long time to narrow down our choices. In the end we decided on it as we had a band at the wedding and we thought it would be amazing to have the song played live. Our band Hudson didn’t disappoint! The song was special to us anyway, but now we have all the more reason to love it.
What were the best bits of your wedding day?
Our favourite parts of the day definitely included the food! Mitton Hall had been recommended as somewhere with an excellent menu with local produce which we are passionate about. We arranged an interactive photo booth for our guests and the company, Boothtube, made a guest book of the photos taken for our guests to write their message and well wishes in. It’s our favourite thing to look back on after the wedding! There was a glitter bar too from Amanda Simpson MUA which was such a hit with our guests. We also bought board games for the kids which occupied even the adults all night! My favourite thing of all was that the venue allowed our dogs to be with us. This was something really important for us.
Why did you choose me as your Mitton Hall wedding photographer?
We chose Hannah as our wedding photographer as we were drawn to her light and airy style of photography. It’s so beautiful and her photos really are amazing! We loved her candid shots as most importantly Nick and I are not too comfortable being the centre of attention, which of course can’t really be avoided at a wedding when you’re the bride and groom! When we first met Hannah at our pre-wedding photo shoot we were made to feel so comfortable. We were grateful that we had the chance to get in front of the camera before the ‘big day’ because we were able to get to know Hannah and to get used to being in front of the camera. The photos speak for themselves, we quickly became relaxed. Plus Hannah loves her dogs, so we knew she was ‘the one’!
